We Want To Hear From You!
One of the biggest problems that people encounter when they become cross cultural missionaries is the feeling of lonliness and isolation. You can help us avoid this by staying in contact with us! We want to receive your emails, phone calls and packages! It makes our day!!
There are sevearal ways to contact us, and to stay in contact with us.
Our Blogs. Denise and I both have our own blogs, that we seek to update on a regular basis. Our goal is to let people see and experience what it is like to live here in Bolivia, with humorous stories, family stories, and spiritual truths. Our blogs have videos, photos, and articles. We welcome comments and emails from them.

Snail Mail: Several people have asked us about mailing us letters and packages. Here are some basic guidelines:, and pardon me for being long, but it doesn help a lot on this end. First of all, PLEASE SEND STUFF! It is like Christmas for my kids whenever we receive even the smallest package!
Now for logistics. If you are sending less than 12 lbs. and the items are small/flat then it would probably be best to mail it in up to 3 different 4 pound envelopes. These would cost a flat rate of $11 each for a 9 1/2 inch by 12 1/2 in envelope that weighs less than 4 pounds. We won't have to pay duty on these. You might be surprised how much you can fit in one of these. :>) If you are mailing between 12 and 20 pounds then the $37 flat rate box would most likely be the best way. This is a really good deal—even cheaper than we were able to mail our books after the airfare went up. You can find additional info at the USPS website.
Open all items and take them out of the original packaging. Also take all tags off the items. This makes them considered ‘used’ and therefore we pay far less duty. On certain packages you must fill out a customs form, but I don't believe that you have to write down the value of the items. If you don't have to, then don't. If you do have to, then you can value them at yard sale prices. We have to pay 50% of the value of the items in duty (taxes) on this end.
