If you are on a Missions Committee, trust me, I appreciate you!  I served on the committee of my church for a number of years, and helped develop many of it's policies regarding missionaries.  I know how difficult it is to decide how to allocate your limited resources, especially when there is such a need in the world and it seems like there is always a noble cause and a good missionary to support.

In order to help you as you seek out information about me, I have dedicated this page to you. A good start would be by looking over our Mission Committee Packet(For PDF form click here) Although it includes my resume, if you simply want to look at that, click on the word resume. Our Story

It is amazing the way that God called us to join Him in world evangelism and missions. It all started one Sunday morning when Joe was speaking to the church during a message series. He issued a challenge to them, asking them "What do you expect God to do through you? What could God do if you completely surrendered your life to Him?" At this point, the Holy Spirit began to shout a whisper. It was the loudest that Joe had ever heard the inaudible voice of God. One word... "Missions".

On the way home, Denise asked, "What do you want to do?". She was asking about the rest of the day, but Joe answered for the rest of his life. He said, "Go to the mission field." Denise did not miss a beat. She wanted to know if Joe was serious, and when he affirmed that he was, she said without hesitation, "I think that we should." In that moment, in the car on a curve on Mountain Road, they realized that this was a Divine moment. It was Joe, Denise, and God. Both Joe and Denise looked at each other, and knew that God had spoken. They were as committed to pursuing the mission field in that moment as they have ever been.

That began the journey of introspection and investigation. They began to pray and fast--including two different forty day fasts, as they sought to understand the will of God. They enlisted their elders, close friends, and family to join them in praying. They investigated both missionary work and missionary agencies. They evaluated their fruitfulness in specific areas, and how they perceived God to be using them.

After eight months of praying, studying Scripture, and listening to God speak through the Holy Spirit and the church, they confirmed what had happened in the car that faithful day... God had called them to spend what they believe will be the rest of their lives on the mission field. The Holy Spirit led them to SIM missions and to Cochabamba, Bolivia. After 6 short months of discovering others who shared their vision and passion; people who were willing to commit to finanical and prayer partnership, the Holmans were able to move to the mission field in May of 2007. They will seek to strengthen and establish the church there by equipping, mentoring, and discipling national church leadership and church planters.
